Aeronautics,
SAE BRAZIL, when organizing and making you carry through this competition, goes you the one meeting
of its missions, which is you contribute will be the academic formation of the futures
professionals of mobility.
The competition offers you an only possibility the university students and of to after
graduation of, organized in teams, you develop an aeronautical project in
all its stages, since the conception, passing will be the detailing of the project,
construction and tests, until effectively placing it you the test ahead of to other projects
same types.
In thus proceeding, the students also ploughs stimulated you develop
abilities that will have important to paper in its future careers: leadership, spirit of
they team, planning and capacity of to vender projects and ideas.
The Competition SAE BRAZIL institucional AeroDesign has the support of the Ministry of
Education, will be lining up themselves and coming you the meeting of objectives of the politics and lines of direction of this
Ministry.
The competition occurs almost has two decades in the United States, conceived e
carried through will be SAE International, society that gave origin you SAE BRAZIL in 1991 e
of which this last one is affiliated, to under the name of SAE Aerodesign, involving
representatives of schools of adds countries of the Europe and Americas.
From 1999 this competition started you also consist of to calendar of events
estudantis of SAE BRAZIL.
The two winning teams of the edition of the Brazilian competition in To regulate Classroom e
the first one placed in the Open Classroom gains the right you participate of competition
similar promoted will be SAE International, in the first to semester of the subsequent to year,
competing with teams of different countries and counting, will be in such way, with support
technician, logistic and financial, on the part of SAE BRAZIL.
With the objective you competes in the edition of 2006 of the Competition SAE BRAZIL
AeroDesign, each competing team must project, to register, construct and fly one
airplane controlled radio you raise the biggest possible useful load, according you norms
specific, daily pay established will be each category.
Series of aspects must be observed in to order you guarantee the success of the project:
• Preliminary Project
• Calculations
• Assays
• Details of Project
• Construction
• Preparation of the Report
• Verbal Presentation
• Competition of Flight

Beyond the requirements technician, the team will have you be worried about several others
aspects you reach the success of the project:
• Procura de Patrocínio (financial support)
• Planning
• Efficient Leadership
• Work in team
• Logistic
• Ability of communication
• Interpretation of the rules
• Creativity and Innovation
• Esportivo Ter Spirit
All these aspects ploughs part of the challenge, and practical its during course of
graduation complements the aspects technician that ploughs learned in classroom or
in books. The projects ploughs judged by variety of areas. Total The punctuation
engloba following itens:
• Report of Project (I contend plants and forecast of useful load)
• Verbal Presentation
• Loaded Maximum Weight
• Acuracidade de Previsão of the Loaded Weight
• Agreement project-construction
• Penalties
The document “SAE BRAZIL AeroDesign 2006 - Interpretativo Document” you be
divulged opportunely, it contains complementary information you the this regulation.
It clarifies adds aspects of the regulation with intention you supply the one only one
correct interpretation of the text of the regulation, with examples, details and you appear. It
also it enumerates adds relative important aspects you the competition and that they had been
congregated in one document you prevent redundancies, dubiousness, and only you facilitate
it looks will be of the information.
All the information gifts in this regulation have CHARACTER MANDATÓRIO.

• Limitation of the aircraft in solid whose diagonal lines ploughs 2,4m x 2,8m and height
0,7m. (it sees with attention section 2,2).
• Load standard Compartment must have minimum dimensions of 4 x 6 x 10 in
(101,6 mm X 152,4 mm X 254,0 mm).
• Additional Punctuation (bond) will be maximum relation paid position/weight empty or
modified factor EE (it sees section 2.8.3).
Open classroom:
• Eligible Participation only will be teams with will be the little three pupils
veterans of AeroDesign (pupils with description of at least one
participation in the AD ones in to regulate or Opened Classroom).
• Specific Requirements of security (it sees section 3,7).
• Creation of the” Process of Accompaniment and Validation” (you see section you the 3.7.8 e

1. Common requirements - Regular Classrooms and Opened
1.1. Objective and Target
The Competition SAE BRAZIL AeroDesign is destined the students of
graduation in aeronautical engineering, physics or sciences that will have
you conceive, you project, you manufacture and you test an airplane in scale controlled radio. In
edition of 2006 of the Competition is foreseen classrooms TO REGULATE e
OPENED.
It notices:
Only will be the Open Classroom: beyond graduation students, they will be able
you also participate students of mestrado and/or doutorado (“stricto-sensu”) in
areas mentioned above.
1.2. Objective of Project
The have team will you project and you construct you an airplane original controlled radio that
it satisfies the requirements and restrictions imposed in this regulation and has
capacity you load the biggest useful load. Additional An challenge is
acuracidade of the forecast of the load that the airplane will be capable you load.
1.3. Organization of the competition
The competition is divided in two parts: 1 - Competition of Project and 2 -
Competition of Flight:
1. Competition of Project - the teams will present its projects e
they will demonstrate its calculations you determines the maximum useful load that
airplane can load well the diverse used would criteria stops
definition of the aircraft. In this context, it is understood all will be “project”
reasoning, duly justified, used you conceive the proposal of
aircraft developed for the team to participate of the competition.
2. Competition of Flight - the maximum load determines that each airplane can
to load. The precision of the project process is taken in account in
result, for the comparison between the foreseen load and that really
carried in flight.
Although the Regular and Opened Competition them classrooms are carried through
simultaneously, the evaluation of each one of the classrooms will be made in
separate.

Page 9

1.4. External aid
With the objective to assure the credibility of the Competition SAE BRAZIL
AeroDesign and to preserve the educational intentions of this competition,
responsible professor of each team must forbid, during all the phases of
project and construction, the aid and/or participation of person (s) with ample
related knowledge and experience to the competition (former. a constructor
professional of models) and whose contribution could unbalance, of form
decisive, the condition of equality between the competitor teams.
In this direction, the responsible professor must commit itself, signing
pertinent, enclosed term in Appendix 6.5.
1.5. Requirements of the pilot
Although the project and construction of the aircraft must necessarily be of
authorship of the students who integrate each team, the pilot does not need to be one
member of the team and neither associate to SAE BRAZIL. It is condition
necessary, however, that the pilot experienced and is certifyd regularly
for the Brazilian Association of Aeromodelling (BORDER) (in other words:
to possess PT). The wallet of member of the original BORDER it must be presented
in the occasion of the competition, before the flights.
For the cases where the team does not make use of a pilot at the moment of
competition Committee Technician will be able to disponibilizar a substitute, in the terms of
Appendix 6.7.
1.6. Tax of Registration
The registration tax will have to be sent to SAE BRAZIL until the date has limited,
as Appendix 6,6, together with the Form of Registration and Term
of Responsibility (Appendix 6,5). The registration tax will not be restituted
under any hypothesis. It is responsibility of the team to certify itself of that
payment of the tax has been received in order to guarantee its registration.
The registration form meets available in the site of SAE BRAZIL
in the Internet: www.saebrasil.org.br
1.7. Registrations of some airplanes of the same institution of
education
More than one has equipped pertaining the same institution of superior education can
to participate of the Competition, since that observed the following restrictions:
• To each enrolled airplane will have to correspond a distinct team.
• Each enrolled airplane will have to be visibly distinct in its dimensions e
geometric forms.
• The teams will be able eventually to work together, however its philosophies
of project they will have to be distinct.
• The enrolled airplanes will have to demonstrate clear differences of project enter
itself. One understands that different projects follow distinct lines of reasoning
in the definition of each airplane.
• Each student could be enrolled in a team so only.

Page 10

1.8. Configuration of the airplane
1.8.1. Type of the Airplane and Restrictions (Classrooms Regular and Opened)
Aircraft of fixed wings only have permission to compete. It is vetoed
participation of any aircraft that:
• Funcionem for fluctuation of gases lighter than air (for example,
airships and balloons), or that they make use of gases less dense than air
that they provide to any type contribution for the sustentation.
• Produzam sustentation for rotating wings (for example, helicopters,
autogyros and girocópteros).
• Has another type of propellant, additional or auxiliary. The only form of
propulsion of the airplane must be through the motor standard.
• Utilizem devices auxiliary in the take-off that do not belong to the airplane
(including aid human being) and that they will not be connected physically to
airplane when it to settle
• Has sharp tips or edges that can come to aggravate wounds in
case of accidents (examples: winglets or end-plates, made in plate of
metallic material or with sharp and/or cutting tips).
1.8.2. Reutilização of the airplane
When an airplane already will have participated of a AeroDesign competition (for
any team, either of the same school or not), the use of the same one
aircraft, its structure or of the same project are forbidden, not to be that
substantial modifications have been made and can clearly be
demonstrated.
These changes must daily pay-be approved by the organizador committee of the event
e duly registered. Adequate reference to the previous approval for
organizador committee, including date, must be enclosed in the Report of the Project.
Maximum date for sending of the relative documentation to the reutilização of the airplane: one
month before the sending of the Report of Project. The approval will be answered in
maximum in two weeks.
Examples of projects that require the approval:
• Airplanes with one or more parts I contend geometric similarities e
aerodynamics with regard to those used in previous years.
Former: airplane that in 2006 has the same wing (form in plant and profile
aerodynamic), or the same fuselage of one another one that has competed
in previous years.
• Airplanes visually seemed (in format) with airplanes used in
previous competitions.
• Airplanes without visible differences in form and that they have been only
improved or optimized in relation the airplanes used in competitions
previous.
Airplanes that keep small differences with another airplane, used in
previous competition, will not be allowed (as, for example, the use of

Page 11
4
exactly airplane of the previous year with only the horizontal empennage
different).
The Report of Project, as well as plants and material for the presentation
verbal they must be different, that is, cannot have format the same, exactly
reasoning of project, same assays used in previous competitions.
The Report of Project must show clearly that it is about a project
new.
Texts (or paragraphs) very similar between the reports of the current year
e of the previous years will not be accepted and will constitute base for penalização
of the project in question.
Conclusions, despite shining, that they have been presented in
reports of previous competitions, will not be considered.
The Committee Technician understands that the teams that if they form to participate of
AeroDesign must develop a project to participate, and all the process
of work it must be restarted to each project.
For teams or members that had participated of previous competitions, it is
acceptable that they learn with the errors and they project an airplane with solutions stops
the problems lived deeply in the previous competitions, or same that optimize
the airplane used in previous competition, some aspect (fuselage for
example). In these cases IT IS REQUIRED and OBLIGATOR the authorization stops
the reutilização of the airplane.
In case that airplanes are detected that are not characterized as new projects,
e the authorization will not have been required and approved, the team will be informed
duly informed and outcast. Such measure can even occur
exactly during transcorrer of the Competition.
If evidenced any occurrence of plagiarism in any part of the report,
final punctuation STRONG will be penalizada.
1.9. Modifications and Not Conformity - Loss of Points
1.9.1. Modifications in the airplane
Modifications in the airplane will have to be presented in writing the Committee
Technician even in the maximum 15 days before the beginning of the Competition. The judges will go
on the basis of to define discountings of points the magnitude of the alterations
introduced, if compared with the project as described in the report
presented originally. Modifications made during the competition - they are
to improve/to correct the project, they are for curing security problems
identified durantes the inspections - they will only be allowed if approved
previously for the juízes that integrate the Committee Technician and they will be citizens
penalties if to imply in not conformity with the project. The decision
of the juízes regarding the modification it could not be questioned by the team.
Modifications communicated and approved with antecedence will not be
penalizadas severely, being able to result in declassification of the team.

Page 12
5
1.9.2. Not conformity with the rules
The verification of conformity with requirements does not stop: 1 - compartment
of load (including dimensions of the load compartment lesser that
specified), 2 - aircraft of bigger dimensions that the principles
delimited in item 2.2.1 and 3 - not agreement project/airplane, will suffer
penalties daily pay-defined not being able until resulting in declassification of
team.
1.10. Identification of the airplane
The identification of the airplane must be the following one:
1.10.1. Number of the Team
The number of the team must be glue in the aircraft in the following places:
On and in low of one of the wings.
Both the sides of the vertical stabilizer.
Both the sides of the fuselage (in the part most visible of this).
The numbers demarcated in the wings of each airplane must have 10 at least
cm of height to be made in legible and indeléveis letters.
In the fuselage and the vertical empennage (stabilizing and helm) such numbers
they could be proportional the used area for glue. Case the number not
either visible and it makes it difficult the fast identification of the aircraft, the team could be
penalizada.
The number of the team is determined by the order of act of receiving of
registrations.
1.10.2. Name of the education institution
The name of the education institution (school and/or university) must be
shown clearly in the wings or the fuselage. The initials of the institution of
only education e can be used will be reconhecíveis national.
The identification of the education institution does not exclude the necessity of
identification of the team, as above specified.
1.11. Claims, Protests and Suggestions
1.11.1. Claims and Protests
Any claims in relation the errors in the punctuation or another aspect of
competition, will only have to be carried through in writing, with the fulfilling
of specific form to be supplied by the Committee Technician, during
to elapse of the competition. The claims will have obligatorily to be
identified and signed for the captain of the claiming team. The forms
they will have to be you deliver to a representative of the committee and will be duly
considered for this Committee so soon it is possible, during the competition.
If pertinent, the Committee Technician will take the necessary actions with the had one
notification to possible the claiming team as soon as in the maximum until the day
following. Claims made in the last day of the competition will even have reply
one week after the competition, before the official spreading of the punctuation.

Page 13
6
Claims regarding the punctuation divulged in the occasion of the awarding,
they will have you be directed you the committee to after saw email up you the 5 days the competition.
The decision of the Committee Technician will be final and irrevocable, it will be made by
divulged writing and during or after the competition. Any
argument with the Committee or any of the judges and inspectors, after
decision to have been declared, will be able to result in the loss of 25 points or in
immediate declassification of the members of the team of this competition.
Insistence in arguing decisions of the committee technician that are supported
for the regulation, that is, insistence in opening exceptions to the regulation
by any reason, it will cause expulsion and declassification of the team, e
also the prohibition of the participation of the school in 2 competitions
subsequent.
It is obligation of any participant to inform the Commission Organizer
of the Competition, or to the coordinator of the inspectors of Security, on
any relative questions to the Security (that is, case is detected
some aspect or characteristic, either of an aircraft or installation,
that it compromises the security of the flight or the present public, to inform
immediately to the responsible one for the security).
1.11.2. Suggestions
A box of suggestions will be available in the places where it will happen
competition. The suggestions will be chores only after the ending of
Competition. Any relative suggestions to the rules will be taken in
consideration for the Competition of the following year.
Also a form in which will be supplied by the commission organizer
each team (or component of team) will be able to evaluate the organization,
course of the competition, the pertinent layout of the area and other aspects.
This evaluation will serve as base for future improvements.
The identification of the team (or the component of team) in the form of
evaluation IS NOT OBLIGATOR.

2. Requirements - Regular Classroom
2.1. Eligibility - Members of the teams
The REGULAR CLASSROOM is limited the students of graduation in
Aeronautical engineering, Physics or Sciences, associates to SAE BRAZIL.
2.2. Geometric restrictions (Requisite of `Hangaragem')
2.2.1. Basic requirements
The aircraft of the Regular Classroom will have in such a way to be projected that
they can TOTAL be INSERTED in a space of defined volume,
called doravante hangar.
The volume of the hangar has a form in plant whose geometry is one losango
of equal diagonal lines 2,8m and 2,4m, having equal a maximum height 0,7m.
diagonal lines of losango are perpendicular between itself and all the sides possess
the same length. The superior and inferior plans are parallel between
itself and the edges that define the height they are perpendicular and these plans.
The aircraft could be located in the way that the team to judge more
adjusted, lined up or not with the diagonal lines, since that the aircraft is
supported on the plain floor of the hangar, with regard to which it will have to keep
same position that will have to assume in the take-off. All the components
that they constitute the aircraft will have to be mounted, as at the moment of
take-off. Any mobile parts of the aircraft (including surfaces of
command) will have to be fixed in positions that are most critical
(bigger area in plant) for the insertion of the aircraft inside of the volume of
hangar.
The verification of the insertion of the aircraft by vol. of the hangar will have to be made
with the total empty load compartment (without load and support of
load). The helices could be with the shovels in the vertical line.
For this verification an answer sheet (or hangar) will be used where the four
walls are articulated in the edges that define losango of the base. These
walls when folded 90º for top they delimit IN ITS INTERIOR
solid above cited.

Page 15
8
The aircraft duly will be located as defined for team e
demonstrated in the additional plant envoy (To see item 5.1.2.1 and Apêndice 6.4B).
The maximum height will be verified sliding one `bar standard' for on
the walls of the hangar after its complete closing without any
interference with the aircraft.
2.2.2. Comments you add
In the same day of the verbal presentations the first verification will be made of
insertion of the aircraft by vol. of the hangar, as process that takes care of to
definition above. The aircraft will have to be present in this verification,
total MOUNTED AND COMPLETE, in the same geometric configuration
that it will have to assume at the moment of the take-off. Case the aircraft is not
gift to this first verification the team WILL BE PENALIZADA in 30
points!
The verification of of the insertion of the aircraft by vol. of the hangar will be able
also to be made after each valid flight. The aircraft that not to satisfy
requirement of total insertion by vol. of the hangar, as described in this
section, will have its invalidated flight and could be declassified (to see section 4.3.1).
It is responsibility of the team to guarantee that the aircraft since its phase of
project until the final construction can by vol. be inserted of the hangar, such
as defined in Section 2.2.1. Case the aircraft is not projected stops
to make possible its TOTAL insertion by vol. of the hangar this could be
outcast.
The walls of the hangar after the closing will be able TO TOUCH LIGHTLY
aircraft, however without the minimum application of force! It will not be able to have
interferences between any part of the aircraft and the limits of the solid (to see
Appendix 6.4A).
If case the walls of the closed hangar cannot total be e
stopped and any part of the aircraft to exceed the maximum height this will be
considered “not hangarável” e, therefore it are of the maximum limits
established for the competition.
In function of the rigid aspects of security currently adopted in
AeroDesign 2006, will not be allowed systems of joint, fold or
dismount of any part of the aircraft so that the same one is inserted
by vol. of the hangar. The requirement will have to be satisfied for the aircraft in
take-off configuration.
2.3. Required engine
The engine must be one (and only ONE) K&B,61 RC/ABC (PN 6170) or one
O.S. ,61 FX, originals, type glow and original exhaust pipe of the engine.
engines special will not be accepted. Engine K&B or O.S with axle reverse
configurations to also pusher are allowed. A spacer, or extension
between the engine and exhaust pipe, it is allowed.

Page 16

2.4. Boxes of transmission, leather straps and axles of helix
Boxes of transmission, leather straps and axles of helix are allowed since that
relation of rotation between engine and helix is of one for one. The helices
they will have to turn to the same RPM of the engine.
2.5. Load compartment
The aircraft must have one, and only one, compartment for
positioning of the load. The compartment must have the dimensions
101,6 minims of x 152,4 x 254,0mm (4 x 6 x 10 in) enough stops
to completely involve an imaginary parallelopiped with these
dimensions.
When the airplane will be ready to fly, the compartment will have to be
total closed.
The volume of the compartment will be verified the flight after validates using one
parallelopiped rigid standard (fact in wood), to be supplied e
used for the organization of the competition. For the verification of the volume of
compartment, after each flight the support with the load will be removed, and
parallelopiped will be inserted in the load compartment, that will have to be
closed completely (with all the setting devices) it stops
verification.
It will not be able to have interferences of no element with the volume
delimited for the compartment.
The compartment could be bigger to allow the positioning of load e
adjustment of the gravity center.
The load compartment will have to be shown clearly in one of
plants, with its enclosed dimensions.
The load compartment will be able to have any configuration that satisfies
minimum dimensions and the requirements.
Dimensions of the load compartment are of the specified one will imply
in the declassification of the team.
2.5.1. Distribution of the useful load
The useful load cannot contribute for the structural stability of the airplane (not
it can, therefore, to constitute element of the structure of the same), but must be fixed
in the way compartment to hinder its movement during the flight.
The distribution of weight in the assembly of the useful load must be homogeneous of
way that the horizontal localization it center of gravity of all
set (plates + support) coincides with the geometric center of the support. Or
either: the plates cannot be intent in a side of the support.

Page 17
10
2.5.2. Useful load and load support
Useful load is the weight carried for the airplane. The weight of the airplane and the fuel
They are not useful load.
The total useful load more consists of the addition of the weights of the plates the support.
The load compartment must contain a support, consisting of one
rectangular transversal section in the horizontal line and 2 vertical plans
ortogonais. The plates will have to guarantee that the weight distribution is
homogeneous as required in section 2.5.1 (Regular Classroom).
The Appendices 6.1A and 6.1B show an example of as the support and
plates must be.
2.6. Gyroscopes
The use of gyroscopes of any type will not be allowed for the Classroom
To regulate.
2.7. Requirements You add - Regular Classroom
2.7.1. Radio Has controlled
The radio has controlled will be used to fly and to maneuver the airplane. The flight will be given
with rain or sun, therefore the teams will have to prepare themselves how much to
impermeability of the radio equipment.
All the radios will have to coincide with rules FCC (Federal
Communication Commission - in charge agency them subjects of
American telecommunications) and LOVE 1991 (Academy of Model Aeronautics)
for frequencies of models of airplanes. This is the system of bands more
narrow and it is identified by a golden adhesive on the unit. It is also
recommended to the teams to use receivers of short band stops
to minimize the potential of problems.
The radios will have to be in good condition. The security overseers will be able
hinder the airplane to fly, if judge that the radio not be in condition
acceptable.
Regular Category IS RECOMMENDED the use to it of radio PCM (Beats
Code Modulation), less susceptible technology the interference.
The teams of the Regular Classroom that to opt to the use of radio PCM will be
granted money in 2 points. It must be demonstrated clearly during
security inspection which the type of radio that is being used.
The use of more than a receiver is set free case is necessary.
Special recommendations on security involving the Radio Control and
instalação eletrônica dos equipamentos serão, emitidas oportunamente.

2.7.2. Pack of battery
One pack of 500mAh is the allowed minimum characteristic for the competition.
The batteries could at any time be loaded in the ground.
2.7.3. Inspection of the engine
The inspection and verification of the engine could be made by the judges of
competition to any instant.
2.7.4. Helices
Multiple helices, involved helices and ducted fans are allowed. However
he is forbidden the use of metallic helices. The helix must be fixed with one
nut standard (that it folloies the engine). Spinner or lock nut (nut
auto-travante) it must be added (OBLIGATORILY) with the intention of
to increase the security of the setting. Although the solution developed for
manufacturer of the engine in relation the setting of the helix to the axle of the engine is
insurance, the Committee Technician if reserves to the right TO REQUIRE one
redundancy in the setting with sights to increase the security.
The teams that to desire to use helices manufactured for the proper team
(not commercial) either this with any number of shovels, will have to submit
to the Committee Technician, together with the Report of Project, a report of
two pages in the maximum, demonstrating:
• Analysis of security, including theoretical analysis.
• Carried through Tests, devices of tests.
• Considered Envelope of operation.
• Details that demonstrate that the conception and the construction of the helix are
enough safe.
The team is responsible for verifying the aspects that must be analyzed e
tested. This report will be verified by a security judge, and it will not make
part of the project punctuation. Case the analysis of the judge concludes that the helix in
question is not insurance, the team will be informed in in the maximum 30 days after
sending of the report.
The lack of this report hinders the team to participate of the competition
using helix manufactured by the proper team.
2.7.5. Fuel fuel and Tank
The fuel it Regular Classroom will have 10% of nitrometano and will be
supplied for SAE BRAZIL.
The fuel tank must be accessible to determine its content
during the inspection. The fuel must be pressurized by normal ways
only, that is, without the bomb use. The fuel tank will be
emptied and replenished before each flight for the inspectors of the competition.

Page 19

The supplying will be total, independent of the size of the tank.
occurrence of pane dries will incur into the declassification of the team.
For the pesagem of the empty, necessary aircraft for the determination of the Factor
of Eficiência Estrutural (EE) (item 2.8.3.), the fuel could be removed
of the tank for the proper team only in the appropriate tent and under
inspector accompaniment.
2.7.6. Use of pára-tails or parachute
Had to the inherent risk that this type of equipment can bring, it is
forbidden its use, either as emergency or landing device.
2.7.7. Surfaces of Command
The command surfaces cannot present extreme recesses in its
joints. Surfaces of command with recesses in its joints
they tend to more reduce the ontrollability in the majority of the cases and cases
severe they are generating elements of flutter. The number of joints (or
hinge points) must be proportional to the submitted spread and loads
for the surface.
2.7.8. Sizing of the Servants
Analyses and/or tests must be presented in the Report of Project
demonstrating that the servants used in the aircraft are adequately
dimensionados and they are capable to support, or to sobrepujar with certain edge,
the aerodynamic loads which the airplane will be submitted during the flight.
2.7.9. Flights of Qualification
Flights of qualification in Are Jose of the Fields, in the eve of the competition,
they are not required for aircraft of the Regular Classroom, however some
teams could be requested to send demonstrative videos of a flight
complete (flight circuit standard) the criterion of the Commission Technique.
In case of not the fulfilment of this request, the team could be
penalizada in up to 5 points.
The teams that to send a complete video of the flight (filming
continuum, free of edition and good quality), up to 30 days before
of the Competition, they will be granted money in up to 3 points.
Attention: the value of the bonification will be function not only of the quality
technique of the video, but also of the possibility of visualization of
characteristics of flight of the aircraft.
2.7.10. Eligible maximum weight
Aircraft of the Regular Classroom will not be able to have its all up weight (weight empty +
maximum load + combustible weight) bigger that 20kg (44,09 lb).

Page 20

2.8. Punctuation - Regular Classroom
2.8.1. Loaded maximum useful load
The Competition of Flight consists of batteries in which the teams will try
to load the biggest possible weight. The number of points in this phase will be based
in its maximum loaded useful load in a total valid flight (it sees section
4.1.3) and will be calculated in the following way:
1 point for each 0,125 kg
2.8.2. Acuracidade
Points you add of Regular load them classrooms will be added
being based on the exactness of the useful load forecast. The resultant punctuation of
acuracidade of esteem useful load is calculated by the following formula, with
weights of express loads useful foreseen and useful Real in kilograms:
Points: [20 - 4,6* (Foreseen Useful Load - Real Useful Load)

2.8.4. Time of Load Withdrawal - Points You add
The opening of the compartment of load to each flight will be chronometered, e
bond points will be given for the teams that to obtain to carry through
complete operation (that is: to open the load compartment and to remove all
useful load) in less than 40 seconds, obeying the following rule of
bonification, with the changeable express time (t) in seconds:
Points = 10 - (t*10/40),
e since that the expression has positive value. In case that contrary, the punctuation
the zero will be equal (0)
For effect of the bond, a component of the team will only be able to make
opening of the load compartment, from an initial position in foot, to
side of the aircraft.
The use of any cutting tool is vetoed (tesourinha, knife or similar)
to cut to the cover or any another component, in the act of the opening of
load compartment. All part or component of the compartment of
load must be apt to be reused, therefore it cannot be destroyed in
opening, exactly that of involuntary form. Adhesive ribbons, after some time
of use, they lose the property to adhere being able not to be efficient in the flight
following. The systems of closing of the load compartment must be
such that, can be reused without having its modified characteristics.

The airplanes of the Open Classroom can have an engine more than, however the piston displacement
total (somatória of the piston displacements of all the engines) cannot exceed 15,08
cm
3
(0,92 cubical counts). Any mark of engine can be used.
These engines could be prepared internally since that the piston displacement
it is not modified.
The team will have, necessarily, to include, in the form of an annex to the Report
of Project, the documentation of the manufacturer of (s) the motor one (es) that it indicates its
piston displacement, as well as descriptive text concerning the executed modifications
in the engines. The total of dedicated pages to this annex will not be
entered as part of the Report of Project.
Airplanes whose piston displacement of the engines will be bigger of what the allowed one, will be
outcasts.
3.3. Boxes of transmission, leather straps and axles of helix
Boxes of transmission, leather straps and axles of helix are allowed. The relation of
rotation between engine and helix can be different of one for one. The helices not
they need to turn to the same RPM of the engine.
3.4. Useful load
The useful load cannot contribute for the structural stability of the airplane (not
it can, therefore, to constitute structural element of the same), but must be fixed in
compartment in order to hinder its movement during the flight.
For the Opened classroom, it is not necessary that the Center of Gravidade (CG) of
set coincides with the CG of the support and the weights can be used stop
to balance the model in the correct CG.
3.5. Gyroscopes
The use of gyroscopes and any type of system of automatic control is
allowed for the Open Classroom.

RECEIVERS or some another form of back-up for the radio.
3.7.2.2. Packs of battery
One pack of 2000mAh (2Ah) FOR EACH USED RECEIVER is
allowed minimum characteristic for the competition in the Open Classroom.
The use of multiple batteries since of that is allowed the minimum load of 2Ah
either reached.
The batteries could at any time be loaded in the ground.
For EACH ONE OF the USED RECEIVERS the installation is obligator
of a “VoltWatch Receiver Monitorial Battery” (or measurer of tension on
board).
3.7.3. Requirements You add - Electronic Systems
The airplanes of the Open Classroom will have to take care of the following requirements of
security:
Compatible wiring with distance and chain (to show in the Report
electric diagram)
Battery for heating of the candle in idling.
3.7.4. Requirements You add - General
• All the screws of setting of critical components (landing gear,
wing, stabilizer, etc…) they must be self-locking nut (nuts auto-travantes)
or braked
• The joints of the surfaces must be compatible with the efforts
operating.
• The number of joints in each surface must be compatible with
spread of the same one.
3.7.5. Test single-engine Flight
Additionally, the teams of the Open Classroom will have to supply, up to 30 days
before the competition, a report of in the maximum 2 pages, detailing
theoretical analysis and practical tests for the case of loss of one of the engines in
more critical condition.
At least a flight test must have been carried through in this condition, and
results must be presented in this report. The team is responsible
for identifying the condition most critical, verifying the necessary analyses
(considering the dynamics of the imperfection and the perception of the pilot), and as the assay
it must be executed.

Page 25

3.7.6. Video of the Flight
A video, recorded will have to be sent in format COMPACT DISC or DVD,
demonstrating clearly that the aircraft in normal conditions, or with
all the engines, are insurance, maneuvering and capable to execute the least one
complete circuit of defined in agreement flight already in Section 4.3.1. The complete flight
(take-off, circuit standard and landing) it total needs to be filmed (filming
continuum, free of edition and good quality).
This video WILL HAVE to be sent up to 30 days before competition e
it will constitute mandatório requirement for participation in the Classroom Opened in 2006.
3.7.7. Flights of Qualification
The airplanes of the Open Classroom could also be submitted verifications e
tests of daily pay-qualification to guarantee that they meet safe to fly
during the competition, in the presence of public and competitors. The teams
they will be informed with antecedence of the details of this test. For effect of
programming, the teams must be prepared to even carry through this test
the eve of the beginning of the Competition of Flight that is: even in the friday, day of
presentation of the projects.
3.7.8. Accompaniment and Validation of Projects
For the year of 2006 the Committee Technician evaluates the implantation of a Process
of Accompaniment and applicable Validation to the airplanes of the Open Classroom.
This process has for objective to assure, previously to the Competition, that
airplanes (products) competing in this classroom show the necessary consistency
e maturity with regard to the original project, benefiting the security as
one all.
The Process of Accompaniment and Validation, if implemented,
it will imply the visit of a representative of SAE BRAZIL and/or Juiz of
Competition next to the competing teams, for ends of verification of
characteristics of the project and will have eliminatory character.
All the visits previously will be set appointments and will occur between 40 and 50
days before the competition.
The process understands, the principle, previous verification of aspects of
project, constructive and accompaniment of tests, also of flights.
Beyond the inspection visit, diverse minimum requirements will be demanded in
report, such as: calculations of structural loads and, photos of the assays
structural carried through beyond some photos of the construction process.
All these itens will be part of the documentation for auditagem.
Bigger details will be divulged opportunely through news

two pages demonstrating:
• Analysis of security, including theoretical analysis.
• Carried through Tests, devices of tests.
• Considered Envelope of operation.
• Details that demonstrate that to the conception and the construction of the helix, are
enough safe.
The non-availability of this report, in the required stated period, constitutes
mandatória condition for the participation in the competition using
helices manufactured for the proper team.
3.7.10. Use of pára-tails or parachute
Had to the inherent risk that this type of equipment can bring, it is
forbidden its use, either as emergency or landing device.

4. Requirements of Mission - To regulate and Opened Classroom
4.1. Competition of Flight
You participate of the Competition of Flight, the team must have completed all
requirements of the project competition, that is, sent the reports, plants e
graph, and made the verbal presentation.
4.1.1. Inspections of Security, Dimensional Pesagem and
The airplane will have to pass for the inspection of security before each flight.
security inspection not penaliza in points, but can hinder the team
to fly.
Obs.: So that the security inspections are fast allowing that
more flights happen, a list with good practical of security will be emitted
opportunely.
The airplanes of the Classrooms Open and Regular will only make after valid flights e
after the withdrawal of the useful load, the pesagem of the empty aircraft.
To the no team authorization will be granted to effect the pesagem
of the aircraft it are of the normal sequence of the battery.
The airplanes of the Regular Classroom that will have its valid flights, will pass soon
after the pesagem, for a special answer sheet for verification of the dimensions
principles of `hangaragem'. The aircraft will have to be capable to be
TOTAL INSERTED in this solid in the described conditions in the sections
2.2.1 and 2.2.2.
The walls of the “hangar” during the closing will be able TO TOUCH the aircraft,
however without the minimum application of force! It will not be able to have interferences
any part of the aircraft and the limits of the solid enters (to see section to 2.2.2 e
appendix 6.4A). It is responsibility of the team to observe the tolerances of
manufacture thus the aircraft does not exceed the delimited volume.
The load compartment (Regular Classroom) also will have its volume
verified and the used solid for this verification it does not have to be inserted with
application of extreme force, that is, the adjustment must be “sliding”.
4.1.2. Qualifications
In order to participate of the Competition of Flight, the team must have fulfilled all
the requirements of the project competition and to have flied the airplane previously.
team will have to deliver in the first day of the event, during the reception of
teams, a declaration made for the orienting professor of the team, signed
also for the director of the school (or representative), certifying that the airplane, in
condition where any repair was taken for the competition (after
significant that he has been made) Appendix flied previously to the competition (
6.8). It will not be accepted declaration made for members of the team or others
pupils.
The airplane must load a mass of 3,0 at least kg (Regular Classroom) or
8,0 kg (Open Classroom) during the flights of qualification in the first day of
competition. This flight of qualification that could be carried through in any
battery of 1° day of flight competition will be eliminatory, being that the day

Page 29

posterior (determined for the number of remaining teams) he will be dedicated to
competition only.
In case that it does not have at least three batteries initiated in the first day of
competition the Committee Technician WILL EVALUATE the possibility to continue
qualification in the first battery of as the day or to finish a battery already
initiate in the first day. This decision will fit to the Committee, and will depend on
some factors, as number of qualified teams already and course of
competition. This decision could be informed until the beginning of 2º day of
flight competition.
The qualification flight will be pontuado.
4.1.3. Flight Standard (total valid flight)
The airplane will have to alçar flight in a region of the track demarcated with 61 meters
of length and width that will be shown in the occasion of the competition, to make
at least one it comes back of 360 degrees and to settle. The initial position of the airplane is with
the main landing gear in the mark of the line of departure in the track. The airplane must
to take off (to be in air) inside of 61m or the attempt is invalidated.
It does not have limit of how many returns the airplane will be able to give before settling, since
that it does not have pane dries and nor disrespects the definite airspace before
competition.
Comment:
For Open Classroom it is mandatório that the passage of the aircraft is more
ample so that, in practically no phase of flight, the nose of
aircraft remains pointed with respect to publishes or competitors to it.

4.1.4. Landing
The airplane must settle inside of the destined area as zone of landing with 122
meters of length. Touchs and rushes will not be allowed. Uma
fall invalidates the attempt. A valid landing is defined as touch inside of
122 demarcated meters, stopped clod roller and (without length limit).
width allowed for the touch, race and stopped will be shown in the occasion of
competition. The initial touch of the airplane in the ground necessary to be inside of the area
assigned for landing, but the clod roller until the stop could be beyond
limits of the track. Case the airplane exceeds the longitudinal limit of the area of
landing, it must make rolling it, that is, with at least one of the wheels
touching the ground.
“Zig-zagues”, “hobbies horse”, and rocking landings (landings type “Boeing”) are
allowed.
The criterion to evaluate if the airplane touched outside of the demarcated area are defined
as:
• If, at the moment of the touch, 50% of the airplane will be inside of the defined area,
flight is valid.
• If, at the moment of the touch, the airplane will be more than 50% for is of the area
defined, the flight will not be valid
The track inspectors will judge this criterion on the basis of, and in case that she has discord
between the inspectors who had attended the landing, the landing will be considered valid.
The landing will be considered valid in accordance with the established criterion above.
However, bond points will be given for the teams that to obtain
to completely stop its aircraft inside of the demarcated area of the track, or
either, they do not exceed the longitudinal and lateral limits of the track in none
moment of the landing, until the stop of the airplane. For each landing that takes care of this
requirement, will be credited 2 bond points. Therefore, to each battery, each
team has the possibility to receive 2 points from bonification, case the flight is
completely valid and still it takes care of the restriction above.
4.1.5. Condition of the airplane after the landing
The airplane must take off and land with all the parts to receive the points
of the attempt. All the parts will have to remain fixed in the airplane for one
valid landing, except the helix that can be broken by the contact with
the ground. The airplane must settle with the same parts that took off, therefore
not being allowed to discarding of parts in the take-off or any another one
moment of the flight.
After the complete stop of the airplane, the captain of the team (or representative who
it will be in the area of preparation for flight), will not be able to exceed the area
delimited for flight until the airplane has stopped completely. After
complete stop, the captain of the team could not be to less than 2 meters
of the inspected airplane until the track inspector has fond of the airplane and
integrity of the same. If this rule will not be obeyed, the flight will be
invalidated.

4.1.6. Alterations and Repairs
The original project of the airplane as presented in the Competition of the Project
it can be repaired during the course of the competition. However, the airplane
it will have to arrive at the end with its parts original (or substituted by parts
spare identical to the originals), with exception of the helix, motor*, servants,
radios and components of the landing train that can be substituted
or changed at any time in the ground. The substituted, mentioned parts
above, they must be identical to those originals, except for the helix. Any
alteration in relation to the original project must be informed as indicated in
section 1.9.1.
*Os motor of the five first ones placed in the Competition as a whole e
of the five first ones placed in the Competition of Flight they will be disassembled,
revised and verified how much the alterations, after the competition.
Repairs could only be made in broken parts.
For the Open Classroom EXPRESS the REPAIR IS FORBIDDEN IN
PARTS OR SETS OF PRIMARY STRUCTURES such as:
• Stringer of wing
Boom or cone of tail of the fuselage
• Stringer of the horizontal empennage
• Among others, as the aircraft.
In breaking case the aircraft will only have its participation again
authorized if the part or set will be substituted by another identical one and after
aircraft minutely to be verified. The coordinator of the inspectors of
security WILL HAVE to be informed when of the substitution or repair of
any component of the aircraft.
Alterations could only be made with the permission of the juízes stop
to take care of to the changes requested for them during the security inspection.
NOTE: any alteration (had the repair or not) in relation to the project
original must be declared, authorized and will suffer definitive penalties
for the judges.
The use and addition of material of covering, adhesive ribbon, glue, small
internal screws or rivets and structural components for repair not
alterations are considered.
Each team will be able to take in the maximum an airplane reserves.
4.1.7. Considerações Adicionais de Vôo
4.1.7.1. Order of Flight
The order of flight for the competition is based on the total of points
accumulated in the project competition. The team with the lesser punctuation flies
first. In case that it is not prepared to fly, it must wait the next one
round.

Page 32
25
After the call will be preparation will be the flight, the team will have 5 drafts stops
if you present will be the inspection of security and the supplying. In marries that not if
it presents, will lose the battery. If the team not you pass in the inspection of
security guard, will lose the teams in the battery.
The have team will you present itself duly will be the inspection with the load
mounted and insurance. The uses of the scale of the Competition will not be allowed to under
in the circunstancia. The scale will be of exclusive uses of the inspectors.
The pesagem will to after be made the landing, in marries that the flight has been valid, in the area of
e inspection and pesagem. The take team will off the load in the presence of an inspector who
it will weigh and inform the team the value heavy. The verification will be made
dimensional and of the volume of the load compartment to after that.
4.1.7.2. Teams of Take-off
Each have 5 team will drafts will be the take-off from its call.
Inside of the 5 minutes, the team will be able to make 3 (three) attempts of
take-off. If the team will not be ready for the when requested flight
it will lose its time, having that to wait until the next battery to fly.
As the operational necessities of the competition this time will be able
to be reduced in one determined battery. In this case all the teams
duly they will be informed.
4.1.7.3. Useful load
The weight of the useful load and the homogeneous distribution of the same one (in the case of
Regular classroom) (it sees Section 2.5.1) will be registered and verified for
judges after each valid flight. Moreover, the juízes will chronometer the time of
opening of the compartment and withdrawal of the load (only for the Classroom
To regulate), attributing applicable bond points when, as described in
section 4.2.1.
Note: to open the load compartment of the airplane without the one authorization
of the judges it will invalidate the flight.
4.1.7.4. Fuel (Regular Classroom)
The fuel supplied for the organization will be the only one used during
competition. The supplying will be made by the supplying inspectors
only.
4.1.7.5. Flight of Test
If it will be possible, the Flights of Test will be determined by the organizador of
event. Not it will be supplied combustible the test flights nor stops
softening of the engines.
4.1.8. Final battery
It will be able to have a battery between the finalistas. The number of admitted teams
in this battery it will be determined by the organizadores of the established competition

in the accumulated points of form that no team with possibility of
to gain the competition has been left of side.
4.2. Punctuation
The preliminary spreading of the punctuation will be made in the occasion of the ceremony of
awarding, in the last day of the competition. The final punctuation will be divulged
through the site of SAE BRAZIL in the Internet, and envoy to the teams, up to 10 days
after the competition.
4.2.1. General punctuation
The general punctuation will be calculated as follows:
Points of the Competition of Project + Points of the Competition of Flight -
Penalties + Applicable Bonds

4.4. General behavior and Security
In the eventuality of not porting behavior, the team will have to receive
warning in writing on the part of the Committee Technician. One second breaking
it will have to result in the declassification of the team.
The organizadores, judges or inspectors will be able to forbid any flight of any
airplane considered without security, until these conditions are modified e
the airplane has been reinspected for the judges or inspectors.
The rules of security for the Competition of Flight will be displayed to all
participants before the beginning. However, any attitude that will be considered
for the organizadores as not insurance, exactly that not foreseen in the rules
of security, it will be considered as such.
Breaking of any rule of security will go to result in the elimination
immediate of the team.
Quarrel or disobedience to any judge will go to result in the elimination of
team.
To the ingestion of any alcoholic beverage or any will not be allowed
illegal chemical product in the environment of the Competition or is of it. This
rule is valid during all the Competition, in any stage. Any
breaking of this rule will imply the immediate expulsion of all the members
of the teams of one same school, not only of the team that it violated.
This if applies to the members of the teams and coordinators of the school.
The use of the tobacco will not be allowed in the common areas of the competition in
virtue of the risks to the security and problems to the health that the tobacco can
to cause. The smokers must look the PRIVATE areas
SMOKERS.
To the organizadores of the competition the right to modify is private
programming, as well as interpreting the rules of the competition, to any
moment through its proper judgment aiming at efficiency in
operacionalização of the event or security in the competition.

5. General rules - Report and Presentation (Classrooms
To regulate and Opened)
The Competition is divided in two parts: 1 - Competition of Project and 2 -
Competition of Flight. In the Competition of Project, the team will present its
project justifying the taken decisions and the calculations used in the forecast
of the maximum useful load that could be loaded will be the airplane. The Competition of
Flight will determines which airplane loads the biggest weight.
5.1. Competition of Project
The Competition of Project is divided in four parts: Report of Project,
Plants, Forecast of the Useful Load and verbal Presentation.
Total The punctuation of the project competition is 100 points.
Total Of this, 80 points will be destined the evaluation of the report, plants e
useful load graph, that will be subdivided by concentration area:
• Aerodynamic: ........................ 15 points
• Performance: ......................... 15 points
• Structures: .............................. 15 points
• Stability and Control: ......... 15 points
• Project and Plants: ................... 20 points
The content and quality of the report, plants and graph will be evaluated inside
of these punctuations. The creativity and innovation also will be evaluated inside
of these punctuations, and well it will be rewarded.
Verbal The Presentation valley 20 points.
5.1.1. Report of Project
Each submit team must five (5) copies of the Report of Project,
detailing the methodology, calculations and results of the project. The report must
you contain:
1. Description detailed will be the maximum useful load you be loaded in function
of the altitude-density. This description will be complemented by graph
representing the foreseen maximum useful load in function of the altitude
density (it sees section 5.1.3).
2. Methods and the results of performance, calculation of stability e
structural and aerodynamic control, and calculations will be the airplane.
3. Any carried through dynamic analysis
4. Any innovative or original idea of the project.
They do not have to be enclosed instructions of construction.
Descriptions of innovative or only techniques of construction and materials,
they could be enclosed.

Page 37
30
5.1.1.1. Format of the report and limitations
The report will have to contain in the maximum 30 pages it Regular Classroom e
in the maximum 40 pages for the Open Classroom. This number of pages is
considered excluding a leaf of face (or layer), the copy of the term of
responsibility (whose presentation is OBLIGATOR in the proper report) e,
if applicable, the document required in section 1.8.2.
The formatting of the report will have to be: double space, typed in A-4 paper
using the source
Times New Roman
in size 12 (with espaçamento of
characters Normal). The minimum edges will have to be: 2,5 cm to
left, 1,25 cm in the superior, 1,25 to the right and 1,25 cm in the inferior.
report will have to be bound thus it cannot have pages
untied.
It is highly recommendable that the plants are folded adequately
(as norm ABNT) thus these are bound
together with leves of the report without its edges exceed
dimensions of a A-4 leaf.
Each report will have to be marked with the name and number of the team, e
school in the face page.
The report will be evaluated how much to the content used technician, methods,
creativity, innovation of project, logical organization and clarity. The reports
they can be made in English Portuguese or.
5.1.1.2. Annexes and appendices
Appendices and annexes of any type are not allowed (paper, CDs,
disketes. photos…).
For the Open Classroom only, the presentation in an annex is obligator
documentation of the manufacturer of the engine indicating the piston displacement and alterations
made in the engines.
5.1.2. Plants
5.1.2.1. Plants - Regular Classroom
Each team will have to deliver five detailed copies of the plants of the airplane.
The plants consist of five (5) leves so great A3, printed only in
a side, folded adequately (as norm ABNT for A-3 leaf),
that they will have to be increased and to be bound with the form report that
juízes can only analyze opening them them, without removing them of the report.
A leaf must contain drawings of 3 sights in aeronautical format standard,
that is, seen superior of the airplane in the left superior side of the leaf, with
nose for low; below of this, the sight frontal of the airplane with the lateral sight to
its right with the nose of the airplane for the left of the leaf (sees Appendix
6.3). In the top of the lateral sight a table with the summary will have to exist of
data of the airplane, always in the metric system. The others four drawings
they will have to follow the format of the drawings presented in any magazine of
modelismo.

Page 38
31
At least one of the plants it will have to show the load compartment, with
its dimensions.
All the leves of the plant must be marked with the name of the school,
name and number of the team, in legend in it I sing right inferior.
The plants normally are evaluated by the following criteria:
• Clarity and Cleanness
• Detailing and choice of the sights.
• Possibility of if reproducing the aircraft from the plants
• Use of normalization technique for representation of the aircraft and its
subgroups (quotas, cuts, sights, details, among others).
Additional plant - Three Sights of the Aircraft in the Hangar
To facilitate the procedure of dimensional verification of the aircraft in
standardized solid (or `hangar') will have to be sent a A3 leaf contends
the three sights of the aircraft in the same standard already previously established,
with the quotas most important (to see Appendix 6.4B). In each one of the sights
of the aircraft the solid standard must be presented in the way as it
it skirtes the aircraft. One prices with the basic dimensions of areas,
some aerodynamic characteristics and the weight empty (kg) will have to be
presented as it shows to the Appendix 6.4B.
It is not necessary that the diagonal line biggest of the solid is guided
vertically in relation the leaf. What it delimits the orientation of the solid is
position of the sights of the aircraft which must be in the aeronautical standard,
as already explained previously.
This drawing will have to be clearly identified with the name of the school,
number and the name of the team, in a legend in it I sing right inferior.
5.1.2.2. Plants - Open Classroom
Each participant team of the Open Classroom will have to deliver five copies
detailed of the plants of the airplane. The plants consist of five (5) leves
A-2 size, printed only in a side, folded adequately
(according to norm ABNT for A-2 leaf), that they will have to be increased e
bound with the form report that the juízes can analyze them
only opening them, without removing them of the report.
A leaf must contain drawings of 3 sights in aeronautical format standard,
as described above (5.1.2.1 item) (it sees Appendix 6,3). A sight in
perspective of the aircraft can be, ALSO, inserted in this first leaf
(above of the lateral sight) for a faster visualization of the aircraft
represented. In the lateral of the leaf a table with the summary will have to exist of
data of the airplane, always in the metric system.
The others four plants will have to follow the format of the drawings
presented in any magazine of modelismo.

Page 39
32
The objective of the modification in the standard of leves (of A-3 for A-2) is to give
the teams the chance to present a bigger number of sights,
cuts and details showing the diverse solutions of project e
construction used in the aircraft.
It is not recommendable that drawings simply extended are sent
but yes a bigger number of drawings and/or seen by leaf, form that
juízes can understand more clearly as the aircraft is composed in
its some sets and systems.
At least one of the plants it will have to show the load compartment, with
its dimensions.
A special attention for the structural details of the aircraft is asked for
to be represented in the plants. These must be represented of such
way that allows to the juízes and specialists of the area of project e
structures, the complete visualization of as are constructed the elements
structural main, such as section of the stringer, linking wing fuselage,
itens among others pertinent cone of tail that they are function of the type of
aircraft.
All the leves of the plant must be marked with the name of the school,
name and number of the team, in legend in it I sing right inferior.
5.1.3. Estimate of the Useful Load
The graph of forecast of the useful load will be judged by its clarity and content
technician, as well as the form as the useful load was foreseen.
The data will have to be linearizados on an excellent band and the graph
it will have to include the equation and the linearizada straight line linear.
Each team will have to provide five (5) copies in A-4 size with the graph of
useful load esteem with weight in kilos x altitude-density in meters
following the format given in Appendix 6.2. Each copy will have to be
bound together with each copy of the report.
As these graphs also will be used esteem the useful load
foreseen during the flight competition, the team will have to deliver a copy
additional to the five, separate one, with the linear equation and the linearizada straight line.
graph must have the name of the team and school in the top, with the number of
team in it I sing inferior right. This will have to be made in format
“landscape” (landscape).
5.1.4. Discounting for Delays
The sets of report, plants and graph of the useful load estimate and
envelope with the plant in 3 sights and the graph additional, and, if applicable,
report required (1 copy only) in sections 2.7.4 and 3.7.9. (Classroom
Regular and Opened respectively), they will have to be sent for the Committee
Technician until the indicated date as dates limit (Appendix 6,6). The Committee
Technician or SAE BRAZIL will not be responsible for losses or errors of
addressing. It is suggested that all the reports and plants are sent
for SEDEX or you deliver personally. But official marks or receipts
of the post offices they will be accepted as test of the date of sending of the reports.

Page 40
33
The sent esteem useful load reports, plants and graphs been slow
they will have deducted five (5) points to per running days (they ploughs not working days).
The maximum dates will be act of receiving of the reports will be 10 running days to after
it you date limit, corresponding you the a penalty of 50 points.
ATTENTION: ERRATAS YOU THE REPORTS PLOUGHS NOT FORESEEN,
PLANTS AND GRAPH. Any document that you arrive at the committee
Errata or Correction of any type will be disrespected. It is not viable
of the logistic point of view you allow erratas. Only the reports
originals will be to deliver will be the juízes.
5.1.5. Verbal presentation
Verbal The presentation will be of free access you the participant teams you
Competition since that they do not intervene or they harm the presentation in
course. For the team that will be if presenting, it will be allowed that
but a pupil presents of each time. The interference will be allowed of
other integrant ones, since that signaled adequately and introduced for
presenter. An integrant one will be allowed to the presentation for more than of
team, since that the presenter exchanges daily pay-are defined at the beginning of
presentation and is made organizadamente.
Interferences of professors or people who orientates of the school will not be allowed
e if to happen, the team will be penalizada severely.
Each team will have fifteen (15) minutes for the presentation of its project.
criteria of judgment for the presentation include the definition of the objectives
of the project, description of the efforts to reach these objectives and
gotten results. The quality of the presentation is also a part
important of the punctuation. The airplane will have to be completely mounted e
to be led in the presentation for the appreciation of the judges. For the airplanes
of the Opened Classroom, the airplane must be taken to the verbal room of presentation case
either possible, or to be available for verification of the juízes in the day of
verbal presentation (in to be defined place). After the presentation, the judges
they will have 10 minutes to formulate referring questions to the project.
